TOP 3 STEPS TO TAKE BEFORE CHOOSING A VIDEO PRODUCTION COMPANY
ALL BLOG POSTS+FAQs+VIDEO & MARKETINGChoosing the right video partner is a very important task because it can determine the quality of the content and the outcome of the whole video. A great video partner will care not only about the product being created (the video), but also how it’s going to be distributed and the results it will create. Zach Nigh, owner of Green Clock Films, has some tips on how you can choose the right video partner.
Tip #1: Start local
Travel is expensive, and traveling with lots of equipment is really expensive. It’s important to keep this in mind when you’re looking for the right video partner. If there’s a video company who is in your area and you love the quality of their work, this is where you can save some money. But you should never sacrifice quality if you can help it. For example, if there’s a video team that you really love the quality of their work but you’d need to set aside some budget for travel expenses, versus a sub-par local video team that is less expensive but the video quality is alright, which would you choose?
Tip #2: Research the video team
Once you find a video team that you may want to work with, make sure you do some research on them to make sure you love their work and the style of their videography and editing. Lots of video teams have a particular style or technique that they enjoy doing. (One of ours is storytelling!) Make sure that their style fits with what you want.
Tip #3: Talk with the video team
Probably the most important tip is to contact the video team that you’re thinking is the right fit. Make sure that they listen to you and they understand the vision and goal of your video. The last thing you want is to say what you want and to be ignored by the video team because they think they know what will be best. Make sure the communication is positive, you feel heard, and that it feels right.
With these tips, you’ll be able to find a great video partner!
